## Description

Bertihütte - also known as **Rifugio Berti** - is located at 1,950 m (6,398 ft) in the upper **Val d'Ansiei**, southeast of the **Tre Cime di Lavaredo** in the municipality of **Auronzo di Cadore**. The hut sits in a forested valley surrounded by the rugged walls of the **Popera group** and the **Cima dei Preti**, offering a quieter alternative to the busy refuges directly on the Tre Cime circuit.

The approach from **Auronzo di Cadore** follows the valley trail through dense larch and spruce forest, gaining elevation gradually over approximately 2 hours (2 hours). The refuge connects to a network of trails heading north toward the **Zsigmondyhütte** and the **Fischleintal** valley in **Sexten**, making it a valuable link in multi-day traverses of the eastern Sexten Dolomites.

With 42 beds in shared dormitories, the hut maintains a traditional mountain refuge atmosphere with home-cooked meals featuring local Cadore specialties. Its position at the forest edge provides natural shelter from storms and keeps temperatures comfortable even on cool evenings. The area around the refuge is excellent for spotting chamois and marmots in the early morning.
