## Description

Rifugio 5 Torri is located at 2,137 m (7,011 ft) at the base of the **Cinque Torri** towers, slightly lower than its neighbour **Rifugio Scoiattoli**. The hut sits in a sheltered hollow surrounded by wildflower meadows and scattered boulders, creating a tranquil atmosphere that contrasts with the dramatic rock pillars looming above. It is a favourite among climbers heading for the classic routes on **Torre Grande**.

The area around the hut is rich in World War I history - trenches, tunnels, and reconstructed fortifications are scattered across the hillside, forming an open-air museum. The views stretch west toward **Lagazuoi** and south to the unmistakable silhouette of **Monte Pelmo**. In early summer, the meadows are thick with gentians and alpine asters.

With just 24 beds, the hut maintains an intimate, family-run character. Meals are hearty and homemade, with an emphasis on local Ampezzo cuisine. Access is straightforward from the **Cinque Torri chairlift** or via a 45-minute walk from **Bai de Dones**. Advance booking is strongly recommended given the limited capacity.
