## Description

Rifugio Aquileia stands at 1,583 m (5,194 ft) on a broad alpine terrace above **Selva di Cadore**, looking directly across the valley toward the immense north face of **Monte Pelmo**. The refuge operates year-round and accommodates 25 guests, making it a comfortable base for exploring the network of trails linking the **Civetta** and **Pelmo** massifs.

The surrounding landscape is a mix of open meadows and conifer forest, with wildflower displays through June and July. From the hut, well-marked paths lead toward **Forcella Staulanza** and into the heart of the **Val Fiorentina**. In winter the area transforms into a quiet snowshoe and ski touring destination far from the crowds of the main resorts.

The hut is accessible by a short walk from the road above **Selva di Cadore** and serves hearty Bellunese cuisine year-round. Its position between the **Alleghe** lake basin and the high passes makes it a practical stopover for hikers connecting stages of longer routes through the southern Dolomites.
