## Description

Rifugio Furio Bianchet is located at 1,250 m (4,101 ft) at the entrance to **Val Prampèr**, deep within the **Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park**. Surrounded by beech and spruce forest, the hut sits in a sheltered clearing where the valley begins to narrow beneath the walls of the **Schiara group**. It is managed by the CAI Belluno section and named after the mountaineer Furio Bianchet.

The approach from **Passo Duran** or from the valley floor near **Longarone** is relatively gentle, making this an accessible first stop for trekkers beginning longer traverses. The trails leading onward climb steeply toward **Rifugio Sommariva al Pramperet** and eventually connect to the **Alta Via 1**.

The hut accommodates 40 guests in dormitory-style rooms and serves traditional Bellunese cuisine. Its lower elevation means warmer evenings and a longer operating season compared to higher refuges. The surrounding forest trails are ideal for nature walks, and the **Cascata di Val Prampèr** waterfall is a short detour from the main path.
