## Description

Rifugio Pian di Cengia - also known by its German name **Büllelejochhütte** - sits at 2,528 m (8,294 ft) on a high saddle in the **Sexten Dolomites**, making it the highest staffed refuge in the immediate **Tre Cime di Lavaredo** area. The hut occupies a dramatic position on the **Büllelejoch** pass, with views stretching north into **Austria** and south toward the jagged **Cadini di Misurina** pinnacles.

Reaching the refuge requires a steep climb from the main Tre Cime loop trail, ascending roughly 400 m (1,312 ft) from the valley floor near **Rifugio Lavaredo**. The approach crosses exposed scree slopes and involves some light scrambling, making it best suited for experienced mountain hikers. Snow can linger on the north-facing approach well into July.

With only 28 beds, the hut has an intimate, high-altitude atmosphere that contrasts sharply with the busier refuges below. It serves as a waypoint on the extended Tre Cime circuit and connects to routes heading east toward the **Zsigmondyhütte**. Advance booking is strongly recommended given the limited capacity.
