# Ücia dles Muntagnoles

A tiny Ladin-run hut on the Fanes plateau, offering an intimate mountain experience with traditional cuisine and just eleven beds in one of the most scenic settings in the Dolomites.

## Description

Ücia dles Muntagnoles is situated at 2,022 m (6,634 ft) on the edge of the **Fanes plateau**, a vast high-altitude grassland within the **Fanes-Sennes-Braies Natural Park**. The name comes from the Ladin language spoken in the surrounding valleys, and the hut is run by a local family who maintain the traditional character of this small alpine shelter.

The approach from **Pederü** follows the main Fanes trail past **Rifugio Fodara Vedla** before branching onto a quieter path across the open plateau. From **Rifugio Lavarella**, the walk takes roughly 30 minutes across gently rolling terrain. The hut is also accessible via the trail from **Lago di Limo**, passing through some of the most distinctive karst landscapes in the Dolomites.

With only 11 beds, this is among the smallest staffed huts in the entire Dolomites. Reservations are essential throughout the summer season. The kitchen serves Ladin specialties including **turtres** (fried pastries) and hearty barley soup. The location on the open plateau provides unobstructed views toward the **Cima Dieci** and the rugged towers of the **Fanes group**.
