Passo Cimabanche (Cimabanche Pass, Gemärk in German), at 1,530 m5,020 ft, is the high point of the old railway between Dobbiaco (Toblach) and Cortina d’Ampezzo, now a cycle path. It sits halfway between the two towns.
Where is Passo Cimabanche and what can you see from it?
To the north, the Val di Landro (Höhlensteintal) climbs from the Upper Val Pusteria to the pass; to the south, the path descends to Cortina. You see the Tre Cime on the Dobbiaco side: the viewpoint is at Landro, right beside the path.

What can you do from Passo Cimabanche?
Follow the path, 30.7 km19.1 mi of gravel between Dobbiaco and Cortina. From Dobbiaco it climbs gently to the pass, past Lake Dobbiaco and the war cemetery, then along Lake Landro (Dürrensee). Our Dobbiaco hiking guide covers Lake Dobbiaco and the outings to Braies and the Tre Cime.
