Rifugio Malga Ra Stua is located at 1,695 m5,561 ft along the gravel road that climbs from Cortina d'Ampezzo toward the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Natural Park. Originally a working alpine dairy farm, the malga has been converted into a small mountain refuge while retaining its traditional stone and timber character.

The road from Cortina is closed to private traffic during summer, but a shuttle service operates from the town center. Alternatively, hikers can walk or cycle the 7 km4.3 mi from the parking area at Ponte Felizon. The setting is tranquil - the hut sits in a forest clearing with views toward the southern flanks of the Tofane and the entrance to the Val di Fanes.

With just 17 beds, the refuge is small and fills quickly during peak season. It serves as a practical stopover for trekkers heading into the Fanes from the Cortina side, connecting to trails toward Rifugio Lavarella and Lago di Limo. The kitchen offers homemade pasta and polenta dishes, and the shaded terrace is a welcome rest spot on warm afternoons.
