Elevation 2 250 m7,382 ft
Season June - September
Capacity 69 Guests

Rifugio Tissi is perched at 2,250 m7,382 ft on a narrow rocky shelf directly beneath the Civetta north face - a sheer wall of limestone rising over 1,000 m3,281 ft above the hut. The refuge accommodates 69 guests and is open from June through September. It is one of the most dramatically positioned huts in the entire Dolomites and a key overnight stop on the Alta Via 1.

The north face of Civetta is one of the largest vertical walls in the Alps, and the hut serves as the base camp for climbers attempting routes on this legendary feature. For trekkers, the hut marks the transition between the gentler terrain around Alleghe and the exposed high-altitude sections that continue northward toward Rifugio Vazzoler and Rifugio Carestiato.

The standard approach climbs steeply from Rifugio Palafavera below, gaining roughly 750 m2,461 ft over a well-maintained but demanding trail. Sunset views from the terrace - with the wall glowing orange above - are among the most memorable in the Dolomites. Book well ahead for July and August as the hut fills quickly with Alta Via 1 hikers.
