Rifugio Pian di Cengia - also known by its German name Büllelejochhütte - sits at 2,528 m8,294 ft on a high saddle in the Sexten Dolomites, making it the highest staffed refuge in the immediate Tre Cime di Lavaredo area. The hut occupies a dramatic position on the Büllelejoch pass, with views stretching north into Austria and south toward the jagged Cadini di Misurina pinnacles.

Reaching the refuge requires a steep climb from the main Tre Cime loop trail, ascending roughly 400 m1,312 ft from the valley floor near Rifugio Lavaredo. The approach crosses exposed scree slopes and involves some light scrambling, making it best suited for experienced mountain hikers. Snow can linger on the north-facing approach well into July.

With only 28 beds, the hut has an intimate, high-altitude atmosphere that contrasts sharply with the busier refuges below. It serves as a waypoint on the extended Tre Cime circuit and connects to routes heading east toward the Zsigmondyhütte. Advance booking is strongly recommended given the limited capacity.
